New Doors for Subzero Ice Creams in Rhondda

The team at Amber Doors recently enjoyed a road trip to sunny Rhondda in Wales, as they installed new shopfronts, automatic doors and roller shutters to Subzero Ice Cream’s brand new retail outfit.

Subzero Ice Cream began back in 1959 in a small factory in Penygraig.  Their first ice cream parlour opened in 1974, but due to increased demand for their delicious ice cream, the successful firm recently decided to open a retail outlet.  The new venture meant Subzero had to ensure they had a venue which was fit to be accessed by the general public, which is why they contacted Amber Doors to provide the appropriate door systems for them.

The first step was to install a brand new shopfront which created a welcoming yet secure opening for customers and visitors.  The automatic sliding doors were installed into the existing building structure, and feature the unique Amber Slide 1000, which utilises precise micro-processor technology and can be easily controlled for optimum performance.  The automatic doors can then be secured using the interlock function, giving the Subzero Ice Cream team reassurance that their premises will be safe overnight.

The Amber Doors team then got to work installing our specialist retail roller shutter doors to the rear of the building.  The shutter doors are operated by tube motor and keyswitch, and training was provided by the Amber Doors team on how to operate the door safely.

Subzero were eager for the doors to be installed quickly and efficiently to ensure that they were ready to open their doors to the public on their planned opening date.  The Amber Doors team were able to step up to the mark and made sure the work was completed within the tight schedule.  

Once the doors had been fitted, Amber Doors ensured everything was working in the correct order, and further inspections will be carried out as part of a routine maintenance check.  Subzero Ice Creams were thrilled with the installations, and the Amber Doors team wished them well in their new venture.

Amber Doors - It's no accident they chose us!

Amber Doors were recently commissioned to install a new set of telescopic doors to the Accident & Emergency admissions area at Watford General Hospital. 

With such an important area to work in we set about ensuring the job was done speedily, efficiently and effectively - and with no fuss. Patient care was our top priority and to keep disruption to a minimum our friendly staff carried out the installation throughout the night.

Our remit was to match up the doors with some that were already in place as part of a wider extension project. Here are the before and after pictures:

With such a high footfall, the automatic doors needed to be robust, safe and hard working. Our doors fully meet all industry standards and this project was no exception. 

The automatic doors were also fitted with full safety sensors for the safe and reliable operation of the door. This is important at any time of course, but especially when many of those using the entrance are vulnerable or in pain.

With hospitals under such financial pressure, it was important that the Watford A&E department work came in on time and we are delighted to report that our doors were manufactured and installed within the time frames requested by the hospital.
